Hindustani Flute

Course description: Indian flute is perhaps the most natural and simple of all musical instruments as it is made from the bamboo plant. Its popularity is directly related to Krishna, the most popular of all Hindu deities. It is simple yet profound. The North Indian flute in general is a little longer in length than its South Indian counterpart.

Karnatic Flute

Mrindangam
Course description: Mridangam is the primary percussion instrument of most South Indian music and dance forms. This is one of the oldest rhythmical instruments which has developed over the years into its present shape. The science of playing the Mridangam is pure mathematics and when played by a master it leaves the audience spellbound by its sheer brilliance. 
 
Qualification: Open, Diploma, Post Diploma, Advanced.

Tabla
Course description: The most popular of all the Indian rhythmic instruments is the Tabla. Like the Mridangam this is an integral part of North Indian classical, devotional and popular music as well as Kathak. Though primarily used as an accompanying instrument, people nowadays are interested in its solo performances too.

Sitar
Course description: Arguably the most popular of all Indian musical instruments thanks to the efforts of the legendary Indian musician Pandit Ravi Shankar. This is a beautiful instrument used both for solo performances and accompaniment. The beautiful sound this instrument produces when its strings are plucked by a master has made it a major influence in the field of Indian classical music.

Vina
Course description: The oldest of all Indian musical instruments is supposed to have been played by the goddess of learning Saraswati. It is mainly a solo instrument used primarily in South India. Unlike the Sitar, in the Vina the frets are fixed and it is played with the instrument held horizontally by the artiste. The musicologists feel that the sound of the Vina is closest to that of the human voice. 
 
Qualification: Open, Diploma, Advanced.

Violin
Course description: Though the violin is used in both North and South Indian music it has become an integral part of the South Indian music scene, both as a solo and accompanying instrument. This Western instrument has been beautifully adopted by our musicians in India. Today the popularity of the Violin is only surpassed by that of vocal music in Southern India. 
 
Qualification: Open, Diploma, Post Diploma, Advanced.
