Gursimran’s proposal was like a dream. He whisked me away on a romantic helicopter flight over the city before presenting me with roses throughout the day; the final bouquet contained a beautiful ring. With such a magical start to our life together, our wedding was destined to be equally memorable.

As Gursimran and I both have large families we had a lot of support, especially from our sisters, to help deliver our vision - of course, it also meant we had a lot of guests - 750 in the evening!

For the morning wedding, we wanted the full Punjabi experience followed by an Indian reception. I arrived at the Gurdwara early while my groom pulled up on horseback, dancing down Green Street, accompanied by the Bollywood Brass Band - the atmosphere was electric and it was only 9am! The festivities continued long into the day. Our guests were truly spoiled - we arranged for there to be pan, jalebi and fresh fruit drink stands and bhangra dancers to keep them entertained.

Everyone commented on what a brilliant day it was; everything went to plan. When I think back to my wedding I feel like the happiest girl in the world. My biggest wish was to make sure my mum, who is no longer with me, would be proud, and hand on heart, I know it couldn’t have been more perfect.
