London's biggest Asian station can now be heard around the UK on digital radio
February 29th 2016 isn't just the mark of a leap year - it's the day when entertainment history is made. From midnight - 0.00 on 29/2/16, Sunrise Radio, will become available nationally on DAB, allowing everyone, wherever you are, to pick it up. Sunrise Radio has long been the fabric of daily Asian life uniting a community which is diverse in language and culture. Last year Sunrise Radio was hailed as the number one commercial Asian Radio Station in London, it was also the first 24 hour commercial Asian Radio Station in the UK and is now in its 26th year of broadcasting.
To listen to the station, simply re-tune or re-scan your DAB Digital radio, or you can still continue to listen to it at 963/972am. Be sure to tune into the official launch at midnight. The station's first national broadcast will be by Sunrise Radio's Founder Avtar Lit, a celebratory show you won't want to miss. Speaking about the move to DAB, Managing Director at Sunrise Radio Tony Lit said: 'Making our station national will unite families wherever they are in the UK as they will all be able to connect and enjoy listening to the station together - we are really excited making Sunrise more accessible and hope new listeners will enjoy our programmes and content as much as our regular listeners, some who have been there since the beginning, tuning in for a quarter on a century!'
