Annual bridal show proves to be huge success
The Asian wedding industry was celebrated in grandeur over the weekend at the 14th annual Asiana Bridal Show, held for the first time at the luxury Lancaster London Hotel. The new venue provided a lavish ambience and setting, complementing all 100 of the spectacular exhibition stands, whilst allowing more space for guests to roam and browse in complete comfort and ease. The turnout for the event increases year by year, and this year witnessed 10,000 visitors, many of whom had come from abroad especially for the event to be inspired for their wedding.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the day was the Bridal Catwalk show, which glamorously showcased 10 of the most high profile British Asian designers and boutiques, with each ensemble styled to exuberant perfection. Audiences were not just blown away by the glittering garbs, but also the unique Slumdog Millionaire. Mumbai street themed staging, conceptualised and put together by Maz Events, complete with its own cow, filmi posters and street style snacks! The elegant models did justice to each stunning couture outfit they waltzed along the stage in, while their hair and make-up was provided by the Nina Ubhi Hair & Beauty Institute.
Each moment of the day was an indulgent feast for the eyes, but perhaps the most lustrous of all was the unveiling of the most expensive wedding lengha made in UK, worth a fantastical £100,000, designed by Birmingham based Sati Thakar. Attracting much deserved limelight and anticipation, the dazzling garment was embossed with real diamonds from Dhir Diamond Jewellers, justifying its valuable price tag.
