Refresh yourself at one of the capital’s most exclusive spas

Posted: 06.03.12

There’s only one experience that’s even more luxurious than spending a day in one of London’s finest spas – and that’s having it all to yourself. The Landmark Spa and Health Club offers a truly special experience – its intimate boutique setting means you really do feel like you’re the only person there; with your very own trainer and beauty therapist thrown in.

Spa facilities include steam rooms and a relaxation area where you can sip tea, browse magazines or take a nap without fear of being disturbed. Less intense than a sauna, the spa’s Klafs Sanarium is ideal for losing yourself among the sounds of nature whilst enjoying a comforting and warming hideaway. Outside the sanarium are two essence-infused monsoon showers to invigorate your skin before heading to the health centre’s modern gymnasium. Home to the latest Star Trac cardiovascular resistant equipment, a free weights section and stretching area, you can have a full body workout at your leisure, or speak to one of the centre’s personal trainers who will guide you through a workout that’s bespoke to your needs. You can also arrange specific personal training programmes including weight loss, rehabilitation after an injury or illness, pre and post natal training or take private yoga lessons.

A relief for anyone who dislikes the clinical smell of swimming pools and worries about damaging hair, the 15m PoolSan pool at the spa is completely chlorine-free offering a real alternative to typical spas.
Guests are also invited to experience one of the sumptuous spa treatments on offer; using natural Espa products you can choose from beneficial Ayurvedic treatments based on ancient Indian techniques, reiki, a holistic Japanese treatment for stress relief and a full range of massages and facials. Just as the whole day feels like a personalised experience, the range of treatments are so vast there is something for everyone. Try the Skin Brightener to add an immediate glow, a hot stone total body care session for the ultimate in unwinding, or something more specialist such a firming eye treatment.

The Landmark Spa is intimate, inviting and a complete oasis for when you want to get away and indulge in some ‘me time’ without the intrusive feel of larger spas. Ideal for visiting alone or with your best friend, it’s well worth a visit next time you’re craving a ‘pick me up’.
