With only a week left to go to The Asian Summer Trunk Show 2016, which takes place at the Danubius Hotel on Thursday 9th June, the countdown has truly begun. The studio is filled to capacity with rails of stunning garments and the designers are flying in from around the world to meet new clients from the UK but before you go, it's time to meet a few more of the women behind the labels and check out what they are bringing to tempt British fashionistas on the 9th of June. Introducing four new designers that will be showcasing their creations at the event:

One of the lead designers at this Summer’s show will be Delhi-based Asma Gulzar presenting Aida Couture who will be showcasing a collection of beautiful gowns, perfect for weddings and receptions. Asma has won many awards, with the most recent being the “Savvy Women’s Honour Award” in India. Asma is well known in India and has her very own flagship store in New Delhi as well as showcasing seasonal collections in popular stores such as Aza Fashion, Gyans, Ogaan and many more. With a clientele from B-Town and global corporates, the Aida Couture label boasts a stunning collection of pretline, couture, indo-fusion gowns, bridal wear and capes. Using rich fabrics like velvet, Kimkhab, pures and scuba, Asma’s designs are stunning, elaborate and inspired by the Indian nobility and royalty.

Sitting alongside Asma is British talent Priyanka Jha who trained as a traditional textile artist in India before turning her hand to design. These traditional skills that require years of experience are evident in the beautiful hand crafted saris, shawls and duppattas designed by Priyanka. Her creativity reflects the understanding of Madhubani Painting, which allowed Priyanka to think of innovative ways to grow traditional crafts through creative artwork.
Skills used in Priyanka Jha’s collection include, Kashmiri, Sozni, Tilla and Aari on silk sarees and jackets. Priyanka’s passion for Banarasi allowed her creativity to come alive by building a team of highly skilled craftsmen to create beautiful pieces. The skilled weavers were able to create Brocade, Jangla, Kimkhab, Minabuti, Jamdani, Jamawar, Kaluah Amboj on the Banarasi sarees. Every product designed is hand-painted, hand-woven and hand-crafted into a breathtakingly beautiful piece.
