An exclusive insight into Simon’s fashion wardrobe, his love for football and being a father figure

Looking pretty fine, Mr Webbe…
I feel like a G6. Thank you guys so much for styling me in your clothes. I thought I would be dressed in the Asian clothes in the film Everywhere and Nowhere but unfortunately I wasn't, so this is the first time for me. I would rock this outfit anywhere!
So it’s fair to say you’re now a fan of Asian clothes?
Big time. I would like to give a shout out to Ziggi Studio. He is going to go a long way and he’s only been doing this for a year. Anybody out there who wants to get a bit of style in their life, check him out.
The new look will come in handy seeing as you’ll be touring India soon…
I’m DJing there with the DJ Killa tour. Believe it or not, I love mixing on the decks and I also did a rock album before getting back with Blue. But I’ll be checking out the fashion in India for sure. I’m a complete fashion victim!
We can tell! Tell us your fashion secrets...
I love the rock ‘n roll look. In this industry you can’t be seen with the same clothes twice or they think you’re a tramp. I’ve got loads of designer gear that I’ve only worn once – I’m saving it all up to open a charity shop one day.
What are your wardrobe essentials?
I love accessories. Scarves, hats, man bags... and I adore my skinny jeans. Me and the Blue boys love swapping clothes because we’re all the same sizes, apart from Duncan who has bigger feet than everyone else. And no, that doesn’t mean anything!
You’re partial to a spot of grooming too?
Damn right! I need to get my hair done every two weeks, but I like it once a week!
It’d be rude not to draw attention to your fine figure...
To be fair, I’ve had about three years off so had a lot of time on my hands. I used to be a gymnast, then I went into football and, as I’m getting older, my body is changing. Five days a week is a must for me! If I don’t go to the gym I lose my temper quickly. My girlfriend sent me to the gym the other day because I raised my voice. I came back and apologised. I also find cooking and cleaning very therapeutic.
Couldn’t you just pretend you were single?
She’s my babe and I am a lucky man! I am in a happy place right now and settled for sure. She keeps me in check and I like that. It’s true what they say – behind every strong man there is a strong woman. Women are the backbone in the relationship and in families.
So how did you end up in an Asian movie?
The director of Everywhere and Nowhere Menhaj Huda came to watch me when I was doing Sister Act with Whoopi Goldberg in the West End. He took me to the pub and told me about the script. Menhaj is a legend in my eyes, he started off a cult with Kidulthood so it was an absolute honor to work with him.
Why is the film relevant?
It’s about people, love and separation which relates to everyone, not just Asians. It also touches on how people try and hold onto their culture by instilling it into their kids–- there were definately parts of the script I could relate to.
Could you ever lead a double life like the characters?
You shouldn’t hide who you are because it will destroy your soul. You can only ever find a balance in life by being truthful.
What’s it like being back with the Blue boys?
It’s like having a second chance to repeat the best moments in your life. For some reason when we get on stage we just click and that’s why I can’t wait to do another album with them.
How does your daughter deal with having a dad in a boyband?
She’s what keeps me grounded and makes me want to shoot for the stars to give her a better life. She’s 14, more laid back than me and when I look at her I think: ‘wow, she’s beautiful!’ Best thing I’ve ever been a part of creating, that’s for sure.
How did you find Eurovision?
Absolutely amazing! It was crazy. You get caught up in this Eurovision bubble that people talk about but you can’t really explain once you’re in it. We were up against Jedward – they’re great guys, young, hip and very funky! It also opened up a lot of doors. We have signed a deal with Universal in Germany and across Scandinavia. It’s great to be in control of your own business, your own destiny. We aren’t signed to a big label that tells us what to do. We’re doing it our way.
Do you regret not persuing football?
I have seen a lot of footballers get ego struck because of money. With music, when someone is singing your words back to you or someone comes up to you and says ‘your song got me through a bad time in my life’, it’s just amazing. I met a woman who told me the lyrics of my solo song No Worries helped her when her husband died. If I was a footballer, no one would come up to me and say scoring a goal saved their life.
You love tweeting!
It’s my duty to speak to my peeps. They’re my tweet people, my birds. Fly high, soaring everyday.
Can you give us a sneak preview of Blue’s new single I Can?
I can’t sing Blue songs without the boys because I’m the one with the good voice!
