Roach Killa’s Indian Adventure

Posted: 12.10.12

That Roach Killa. He gets around…and he always gets the girls!
Earlier this month the Canadian artist flew to India (for his first ever trip) and performed at their equivalent of the Grammys; The Global Indian Music Academy Awards (GIMA).

His performance rocked the crème-de la crème of the Indian music industry; Asha Bhosle, A R Rahman, Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik, Mika Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, Alka Yagnik, Salim Sulaiman and Bollywood A’listers Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgun, Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Vidya Balan – he couldn’t have dreamt up a more filmi introduction to the Indian audience if he tried!
Describing his excitement he said: ‘This was probably one of the best experiences I have ever had. To perform in front of an industry that has inspired me since I was a kid was truly humbling, I couldn’t believe the reaction and everyone was so friendly, nice and encouraging. I was blown away when I saw Shah Rukh Khan’s name on the dressing room opposite mine and Sonu Nigam’s was next door!’

Returning to the UK, Roach notched up another great achievement winning the coveted BritAsia TV Best UK Urban Act Award last week.
This is a man on a mission – we can’t wait to hear what he does next!
