Forget Planes, Trains and Automobiles, if it’s a road movie you’re after, look no further than Chalo Dilli, a journey from Jaipur to Delhi undertaken by the most unlikely traveling pair ever imaginable that takes the term ‘beauty and the geek’ to another level.

The story begins with Mihika Mukherjea, played by the stunning Lara Dutta. A strong willed young woman who is Senior Vice President of a multinational Financial Institution in Mumbai, she’s a jet setter, go-getter, no nonsense woman. But disaster strikes: she misses a flight to Delhi and ends up encountering Manu Gupta, a podgy and loud mouthed shop keeper. Manu is everything that Mihika isn’t. Crass. Obnoxious. Rude. (He is that guy who talks on his cellphone loudly in the theatre and then spits gutkaa juice in the aisle...).  And he’s very smart: mostly over smart.

As fate would have it, Mihika lands up stuck with Manu for the rest of her journey to Delhi. The film is is a bizarre adventure full of madness and crazy comic moments. A bizarre journey through air, road and rail from Mumbai, via Jaipur to Delhi which along with these two protagonists, showcases the real India – the color, and eccentricities of the country and its people.
