How a Non-Surgical Clinic procedure can give your features a longer lasting glow

Posted: 29.02.12

Diets, health kicks and exercise do wonders, but for a truly dramatic skin, there’s nothing like an artificial boost to help you along your way. And we’re not just talking about make-up...
Environmental factors, genetics, lifestyle and weight loss all contribute to the speed and extent to which your face loses its vitality. Each time you use your facial muscles to laugh, smile, or scowl, wrinkles are caused by the contractions of these muscles and after years, the lines start to become permanent. The results of such ageing is most noticeable on your face. For some, these lines start as early as during their 20s and 30s. Although a natural process, there are simple ways in which you can reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles by slowing them down, and non-surgical procedures are one of them.
Commonly known as botox, the procedure is a simple method of injecting wrinkle relaxing dermal fillers. These are suitable for both men and women; in fact it’s men that often feel more self-conscious, simply because skin problems aren’t something they tend to share with their friends. Majid Rahman, 31 a Property Consultant, tried botox for the first time, ahead of his engagement party and was surprised at how effective the results were. He explains: ‘I’ve always felt self-conscious about my forehead lines. I had heard about botox but never thought it would be for me, until I visited a clinic, The specialists really put me at ease, so I went for it immediately!’
Choosing a clinic you are comfortable with is an important decision. The Non Surgical Clinic in central London is fast developing a reputation for being one of the most safe and professional places in which to receive treatment. Most sessions last a few minutes which means they can be slotted around your life; even into your lunch break. Just one session was all it took to eradicate Majid’s lines: ‘From just one needle the results spoke for themselves - it lasts a few months so although I need to go back just before the wedding, I look fantastic in all my engagement photos!’
Other non surgical procedures include slimline botox, to reduce the puffiness of your face, making your skin look taut, crows feet at the corners of your eyes, cheek hollows, the dips above your lips and nose and mouth lines. Fillers can also be used to enhance the shape of your lips though lip plumping. Yasmin Hussain, 24 a Marketing Manager, had a desire to make her lips look fuller and underwent a lip plumping treatment, which has turned around her life. She says: ‘I wanted a bolder pout and I’m really impressed with the results. It was easy and instant and I feel so much more confident in myself.’

Botox: Need to know
• Treatments start from £150
• Results are immediate though it’s recommended you do it two-four weeks ahead of any special occasions
• There is no specific pre-care although some require an anaesthetic cream to be applied a few minutes prior to treatment.
• You can return straight to normal activities – there is no down time.
• Procedures are virtually painfree though you may experience a small prick.

Popular procedures:

Lip plumping

This involves pumping soft tissue ‘fillers’ to add volume and fullness. Approximately ten needles are injected across both lips and the procedure takes about 30 minutes.

Frown lines

Are vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows. In some cases, they stay permanently in the face, making it appear like you are frowning or angry even when you're nothing of the sort! A simple one needle procedure can diminish these lines.

Mouth lines

Known as laughter lines these often look so prominent that the lines take attention away from the rest of your face. Botox can even out these creases and folds.
