TREND 1 : DUAL TEXTURE
‘Think of those famous groupies from the sixties and seventies and you’ll get an idea of what this look is about’, says stylist Sam McKnight, The modern take on this look is a more conservative rock chic rather than rock chick, as seen at Balmain and Jaeger.
Get the Look: Start by loading on a volumising mousse, then abandon your GHDs and brushes, and use fingers to lift and separate the hair while blow-drying. Those with straight locks should use a tong to add random kinks. Use Paul Mitchell Soft Spray, (£8.50; www.lookfantastic.com) - it holds hair in place while enhancing shine.
TREND 2 : DUAL TEXTURE
The hottest trend on the catwalks was contrasting finishes in one style. Skull tight sleekness combined with voluminous ends dominated at Versace, Givenchy and Alexander Wang shows.
Get the Look: Create soft waves with the help of a tong or heated rollers, then apply some gel and shine spray to the top of the head, until it is slicked tight to the crown. To finish, tease the lengths with a wide-tooth comb and use a brush to pouf it out. Try Label M Wax Stick (£12.95) to tame strays and Fructis Bamboo Flexihold Hairspray, (£2.24) to keep locks in place all night.
TREND 3 : MAKING WAVES
Waves have bounced back onto the beauty scene. Feminine, flowing locks was influential stylist Guido Palau’s brief at Chloe.
Get the Look: For an up-to-date look, team waves with a deep side parting for a mermaid-esque feel. A good curl enhancing product and large tongs are your staple tools for creating this look. Wind the hair under section by section in the same direction for a polished, yet tumbling finish. Use WAM Size 19 Curling Irons (£120; 020 7836 0818) for creating soft and glam waves and Shu Uemura Art of Hair Liquid Fabric Mineral Texture Spray, (£18; 01273 861870) to refine curls with weightless control.
