Sleep Right
I find it difficult to get to sleep at night. Are there any products that can help me unwind?
I often have the same issue and certain products always help me switch off. Take a long bath and pour in a capful of Tisserand Relaxing Bath Soak (£7.25, tisserand.com). If time is limited, shower using the Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Body Wash (£21.50, aromatherapyassociates.com), which contains a soothing blend of petitgrain and lavender. I’m also a big fan of pillow mists such as L’Occitane Organic Lavender Sweet Dreams (£11.75, uk.loccitane.com), which is infused with relaxation-inducing lavender essential oil and geranium, to promote a restorative sleep.
I work in an air-conditioned office and my skin feels very dry by the end of the day – even if I use lots of moisturiser. What can I do?
You could reapply a moisturiser whenever your skin feels dry - but if you’re worried about ruining your make-up, keep a hydrating mist on your desk and spritz it onto your skin whenever it begins to feel uncomfortable.
I like the Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray (£3.15, boots.com), which is perfect for sensitive or irritated skin. The Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner (17.50, boots.com) combines soothing rose petal, lavender and geranium to invigorate and hydrate.
Pump up the volume
How can I make my hair look thicker and more voluminous? It always looks really limp and flat after I wash it.
Try using volumising products such as Moroccan Oil’s Extra Volume Shampoo (£17.65, 0800 310 1133) and Conditioner (£18.55), which contain tilicine – an ingredient derived from the buds of the linden plant that plumps up the cuticle from the inside out. The key is to ensure that you don’t over-use the products – a teaspoon-sized amount of shampoo and conditioner is all that’s needed.
Before styling your hair, spritz the roots with a volumising spray. I like John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Blow Dry Lotion (£5, boots.com).
If you find your hair looks limp again the next day, use Tresemme Instant Refresh Volumising Dry Shampoo (£4.38, boots.com), which soaks up oil and boosts body.
